Think beyond the wedding day
Guests are flying to France, often from the United States. The best destination weddings reward that effort with a weekend that feels thoughtful from arrival to departure.
That does not mean filling every hour. It means creating a natural rhythm: arrival help, a welcome moment, a beautiful wedding day, and a farewell that lets guests enjoy the region.
Day 1: Arrival and welcome
Arrange airport transfers or clear arrival instructions. Keep the welcome event easy to attend and not too late, especially for guests arriving from the US. In Paris, this might be a private dinner. In Provence, a garden aperitif or market-inspired evening. On the Riviera, a beach club or terrace cocktail can work beautifully.
Day 2: Local experience or wedding day
For a three-day weekend, day two is often the wedding day. For a longer weekend, use day two for a wine tasting, chateau visit, boat day, Provence village tour, or Riviera coastal drive.
Guest transportation matters. Do not assume guests will drive rural French roads, find taxis late at night, or coordinate rides after a celebration.
Day 3: Farewell brunch and departures
A farewell brunch gives guests a final moment together before transfers. If many guests stay longer, offer optional private tours or transportation to the next region.
